«Mark Zuckerberg Supporting Use of Cryptocurrencies

Almost all of us know who Mark Zuckerberg is. In case you’ve somehow forgotten, we’ll be happy to remind you that it’s the man who created Facebook. Currently Facebook is the one of the most popular social networks, right behind Google and YouTube, which is a part of Google network.

But his activity spreads much wider than just Facebook, he always looks for and uses current and newest trends. Cryptocurrencies are no exception here, because Mr. Zuckerberg has been encouraging people to get and use cryptocurrencies because he considers them a great chance to seize the control over their own lives.

Facebook founder, while discussing challenges for 2018, named “centralized systems” as one of the most serious problems of humanity. He says that there are several things that can help us to take the power over our own life back into our hands. Encryption and cryptocurrencies are among them.

Mr. Zuckerberg’s public note with important challenges for 2018 was published on the 4th of January. He described achievements of the human kind in 2017 and possible problems, that expect us in the current year. He also remembered challenges of 2009, when his main product, Facebook, was a young network in expectation of its first profits. Zuckerberg says that he was wearing a tie every day at that hard period in order to stay concentrated.

Mr. Zuckerberg underlines that the most serious problem, facing the human kind in 2018 is the battle between centralization forces and decentralization. He believes that all kinds of technologies, including digital currencies, are powerful sources and supporters of decentralizing force, which gives more power into people’s hands so that they can control their own lives. That’s very close to Facebook’s motto, which says “give power to the people”. Zuckerberg adds that people have lost any hope to get this power of control into their own hands. He says that ordinary people don’t believe in technology and don’t see it as a source of their independence, because at the moment government uses technologies to watch and control people.

Zuckerberg offers digital currencies as a solution of centralization problems. He predicts that owners of cryptocurrencies can take the control over their lives away from governments and put it into their own hands. He also made a slight hint that Facebook is planning to start supporting cryptocurrencies in the nearest future, saying that he and his team are greatly interested in all the possibilities and negative effects of digital currencies, as well as the ways they can be used by Facebook.

We can’t say how honest Mr. Zuckerberg was when he was writing this note about challenges of 2018. But his slight hint about a possibility of Facebook supporting cryptocurrencies is really breaking news.
