«First Multistate Progressive Slots Jackpots Have Been Given a Start
International Game Technology (IGT), the well-known manufacturer of gaming equipment, has finally launched its first multistate progressive jackpot network. Thanks to this company there now is a whole network of interlinked slot machines across Nevada. However, the present Powerbucks network covers slots in casinos that are operated by Boyd Gaming and Caesars Entertainment in the states of Nevada and New Jersey. Caesar is responsible for 13 casinos located in Nevada. Another four casinos that belong to Caesars are located in Atlantic City. Boyd, in its turn, operates nine casinos in Las Vegas. Besides, half of Borgata Casino, the Atlantic City’s market leader, also belongs to Boyd.
A couple of months ago (February 2014) both Nevada and Delaware agreed to sign online poker liquidity sharing deal which was the United States’ first agreement of this kind. Powerbuck became the second agreement enabling interconnection between states. IGT and Bally Technologies actively participated in the process and did all possible for the necessary laws to be approved first in Nevada (September 2013) and then, five months later, in New Jersey. IGT expects that in the future Mississippi, Louisiana, Delaware and other eligible states will become part of Powerbucks.
Organizers are looking forward to the inevitable rivalry. The Powerbucks jackpots might soon defeat PowerBall and Mega Millions on their 9-digit prizes. The multistate jackpot feast will welcome keno and a variety of other games, because this by no means contradicts the Nevada regulations. As it was put by Eric Tom, IGT Vice President of global sales, Powerbucks will be of great help to their customers who are mainly focused on drawing even more players to their casinos. According to Melissa Price, Caesars' representative, from now on gambling will offer players new tastes and sensations – different from those experienced before.
